The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite a surah to us. Ibn Numayr added, outside of prayer. Then he would prostrate and we would prostrate with him, until one of us could not find a spot to place his forehead.
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ح و حدثنا أحمد بن أبي شعيب الحراني حدثنا ابن نمير المعنى عن عبيد الله عن نافع
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ علينا السورة قال ابن نمير في غير الصلاة ثم اتفقا فيسجد ونسجد معه حتى لا يجد أحدنا مكانا لموضع جبهته
Bukhari narrated it in "Prostration of the Quran," in the chapter "Whoever prostrates when the reciter prostrates," Hadith 1075, and Muslim narrated it in "Mosques," in the chapter "Prostration of Recitation," Hadith 575, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan by this route, and it is found in Musnad of Ahmad, 2/17.
