Makhrama bin Sulayman reported,

Kurayb, the freed slave of Ibn Abbas, reported that he said, I asked Ibn Abbas, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray at night?"He replied, "I spent a night at his house when he was staying with Maymunah. He slept until a third or half of the night had passed, then woke up and went to a waterskin containing water and performed ablution, and I performed ablution along with him. Then he stood to pray, so I stood beside him on his left, but he placed me on his right. He then put his hand on my head as if touching my ear, as though waking me up. He prayed two light units, reciting the Mother of the Quran in each one, then said the closing salutation. He continued praying until he had completed eleven units, including the witr, and then he slept.Bilal then came to him and said, 'The prayer, Messenger of Allah!' So he got up, prayed two units, then led the people in prayer."

عن مخرمة بن سليمان

أن كريبا مولى ابن عباس أخبره أنه قال سألت ابن عباس كيف كانت صلاة رسول الله ﷺ بالليل قال بت عنده ليلة وهو عند ميمونة فنام حتى إذا ذهب ثلث الليل أو نصفه استيقظ فقام إلى شن فيه ماء فتوضأ وتوضأت معه ثم قام فقمت إلى جنبه على يساره فجعلني على يمينه ثم وضع يده على رأسي كأنه يمس أذني كأنه يوقظني فصلى ركعتين خفيفتين قد قرأ فيهما بأم القرآن في كل ركعة ثم سلم ثم صلى حتى صلى إحدى عشرة ركعة بالوتر ثم نام فأتاه بلال فقال الصلاة يا رسول الله فقام فركع ركعتين ثم صلى للناس
