Some men whose testimony I find acceptable, among them Umar bin Khattab, and the most acceptable of them to me is Umar, testified before me that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no prayer after the dawn prayer until the sun rises, and no prayer after the afternoon prayer until the sun sets."
Bukhari transmitted it in Mawaqit al-Salah, chapter "Prayer After Fajr Until the Sun Rises," no. 581, and Muslim in Salat al-Musafirin, chapter "The Times During Which Prayer Is Forbidden," no. 826, from the hadith of Qatada.
