We were with Saeed bin al-As in Tabaristan when he stood up and asked, "Which of you prayed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"Hudhayfah replied, "I did."So he led one group in one rakah and the other group in one rakah, and they did not make up the missed rakah.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا يحيى عن سفيان حدثني الأشعث بن سليم عن الأسود بن هلال
كنا مع سعيد بن العاص بطبرستان فقام فقال أيكم صلى مع رسول الله ﷺ صلاة الخوف فقال حذيفة أنا فصلى بهؤلاء ركعة وبهؤلاء ركعة ولم يقضوا
Its isnad is sahih. Nasai narrated it in "Prayer of Fear," chapter 1, no. 1531, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan through this route. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1343, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 586, and Hakim, 1/335, and Dhahabi concurred with him.
