The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would take one route on the day of Eid and return by a different route.
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة حدثنا عبد الله يعني ابن عمر عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ أخذ يوم العيد في طريق ثم رجع في طريق آخر
[Hasan] Reported by Ibn Majah in the Book of Establishing the Prayers, Chapter on Going Out for Eid by One Route and Returning by Another, hadith 1299, from the hadith of Abdullah Umari, with this wording, and his narration from Nafi is strong.
