Ata informed me that he saw Ibn Umar praying after the Friday prayer. He would move slightly from the spot where he had prayed the Friday prayer, only a short distance, and then perform two rakahs. Then he would walk a little farther away and perform four rakahs.I asked Ata, "How many times did you see Ibn Umar do this?"He replied, "Many times."
Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi transmitted it in Jumuah, chapter on what has been said about the prayer before and after Jumuah, hadith no. 523, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, in a shortened form, through the same chain.
