I was with Muawiya in Bayt al-Maqdis, and he led us in the congregational prayer. I looked around and saw that most of those in the mosque were companions of the Prophet ﷺ. I saw them sitting with their knees drawn up and wrapped in their garments while the imam was delivering the sermon.

شهدت مع معاوية بيت المقدس فجمع بنا فنظرت فإذا جل من في المسجد أصحاب النبي ﷺ فرأيتهم محتبين والإمام يخطب

Sourcing, [its isnad is daif]. Tahawi reported it in Mushkil Athar (4/80) from the hadith of Khalid bin Hayan, through him, from Sulayman bin Abdullah, who is weak in hadith, as stated in Taqrib.Khalid bin Hayan and Sulayman are narrators of Abu Dawud, and this is a strange matter.
