Burayda reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon to us when Hasan and Husayn 
came forward wearing red shirts, stumbling and getting back up. He came down, picked them up, and carried them up onto the pulpit. Then he said, "Allah has spoken the truth, 'Your wealth and your children are only a trial' [Taghabun 64:15]. I saw these two and could not bear it." Then he resumed his sermon.

Hasanحدثنا محمد بن العلاء أن زيد بن حباب حدثهم حدثنا حسين بن واقد
حدثني عبد الله بن بريدة عن أبيه قال
خطبنا رسول الله ﷺ فأقبل الحسن والحسين رضي الله عنهما عليهما قميصان أحمران يعثران ويقومان فنزل فأخذهما فصعد بهما المنبر ثم قال صدق الله {إنما أموالكم وأولادكم فتنة} رأيت هذين فلم أصبر ثم أخذ في الخطبة
[Its isnad is hasan]. Tirmidhi transmitted it in al-Manaqib, in the chapter on his forbearance and his placing Hasan and Husayn between... etc., no. 3774, from the hadith of Husayn bin Waqid, through this route, and he said, hasan gharib.
