The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Two festivals have come together on this day of yours. Whoever wishes, this will suffice him in place of the Friday prayer, but we will be holding the Friday prayer."Umar reported this from Shuba.
[Daif]. Ibn Majah narrated it in "Establishing Prayers," chapter on what is said if two Eids fall on the same day, hadith 1311, from Muhammad bin Musaffa with this wording. Hakim graded it sahih according to the criterion of Muslim (1/288), and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has corroborating narrations. Mughira bin Miqsam used the ambiguous transmission form "an," but the preceding hadith, 1070, suffices in its place.
