He was present with the Prophet ﷺ at the time of Hudaybiyah on a Friday. Rain fell on them, but not enough to wet the bottoms of their sandals, so he ordered them to pray in their dwellings.
حدثنا نصر بن علي قال سفيان بن حبيب خبرنا عن خالد الحذاء عن أبي قلابة
أنه شهد النبي ﷺ زمن الحديبية في يوم جمعة وأصابهم مطر لم تبتل أسفل نعالهم فأمرهم أن يصلوا في رحالهم

[Sahih] Ibn Majah narrated it in "Establishing the Prayers," chapter "Congregation on a Rainy Night," hadith no. 936, from Khalid Haddan through this route, see also hadith no. 605. Ismail bin Ulaya and others narrated it from Haddan through this route (Mujam al-Kabir by Tabarani, 1/188, 189).
